It is usually a tough decision to make when one is trying to make a choice of the kind of camera to buy. A buyer has to select between a compact Digital Camera and DSLR camera which is most commonly used by most professional photographers. Using this camera has the advantage of being versatile in its usage. Though digital cameras have increased pixels the best choice for any photographer remains the Slr Camera. It has bright, large and high accuracy optical finder that allows for speedy operations. This camera is ideal even for family activities like holidays, vacations and birthdays.

The SLR camera has more manual operations than the compact digital cameras which require the user to just point and shoot. For perfect shots always keep your camera in ready mode. They offer prompt start up and low shutter lag. Compact cameras shutter lag that is enough time to make you lose a shot. With a SLR camera you are unlikely to miss any shot since its shutter lag is less than one second. You can use different lenses with SLR cameras a fact that allows you take different types of photos. You can use this camera to zoom in on distant images and capture them as close-ups. Other advantages of this camera include a long life battery, high quality Image Sensor; fast continuous shooting and they are able to store raw images.

The main drawback of this camera is its large size which can’t fit in your purse like a compact digital camera. Their size and weight makes them difficult to travel. They are more expensive in comparison with compact digital cameras. The SLR camera has its main strengths in its speed, optical system and clarity. It is easy to confuse it with a point and shoot camera but the main difference is in the way it is used and the quality of images it produces. This camera allows you to look at the precise pictures that have not been altered digitally by features in the camera. The compact camera generates the image you see in the eyepiece but the image in SLR cameras the image is relayed through the lens and mirrors to the viewfinder and reflects the image to the various mirrors. You can use different lenses to take different shots according to what you want. There are lenses that you can use to capture even moving objects. If you do not like operating the camera manually you can make use of the automatic settings.
